Dollar General Highlights Feeding America Donations in Texas

DALLAS (KDAF) — In recognition of Hunger Action Month in September, Dollar General is highlighting its commitment to addressing food insecurity in Texas through its partnership with Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization. Through the first seven months of 2025, more than 2.1 million pounds of food was donated to Feeding America partner food banks in Texas communities, seeking to help nourish neighbors in need, including:

With approximately 75% of the U.S. population living within five miles of a DG store, the Company is uniquely positioned to help address food insecurity and provide access to affordable, healthier food options. Additionally, every Dollar General store across the country offers components of a nutritious meal, and the Company is a USDA MyPlate National Strategic Partner through its Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP) Nutrition Communicators Network. In addition to its Feeding America partnership, the Company continues to provide Better-For-You foods and resources from a registered dietician, added nearly 100 new private label brand products in January 2025 and currently offers fresh produce in more than 6,700 stores, giving it more individual points of produce distribution than any other U.S. mass retailer or grocer.
