MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Two adults and one child have been displaced after a house fire broke out in Clarksburg on Sunday, according to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS).

Firefighters say crews responded to reports of a townhouse fire around 7 p.m. in the 12100 block of Pond Pine Drive in Clarksburg.

There, smoke could be seen coming from the front door and the first- and second-floor windows.

Firefighters say the flames had spread throughout the first floor but were contained by the home’s sprinkler system.

No one was at home at the time of the fire.

According to firefighters, the home sustained at least $75,000 in damage, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
