According to a press release on the West Virginia Lottery website, a $1 million dollar ticket was sold in Hedgesville at 7-11. A $100,000 winning ticket was also sold with the drawing matching four numbers plus the Power Ball and the Power Play, doubling the original winning amount.
Two $50,000 tickets were also sold, with one from the Cheat Lake Price Cutter in Morgantown on Venture Drive and another at the the Somerville Exxon on Highway 33 in Linn.
All of these tickets were hit during 42 consecutive drawings, the longest in game and lottery history according to the release.
“What a run!” Acting Director David Bradley said in the release. “While we didn’t hit the jackpot here in West Virginia, we had players with big wins and that is quite exciting. We want to encourage them to get in contact with our team and start that process, and we want to remind everyone how important it is to always play responsibly.”
The winners of the tickets can call the West Virginia Lottery office at 304-558-0500 for information on how to claim their prizes.
Monday is also the last day for a $1 million ticket sold in Hurricane in a March Powerball drawing. Bradley is encouraging people to double check their tickets, as another unclaimed $1 million ticket remains from a drawing in May that will expire in November.
