CHICAGO — A 2-year-old boy has died following an accidental shooting Monday afternoon in Chatham.
Officers responded to the 300 block of East 87th Street after 1 p.m. on the report of a shooting.
Police believe a 2-year-old sustained an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face.
He was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead.
Police are speaking with a person of interest.
