Prize Fest is set to take over downtown Shreveport from October 15 to 19, bringing together film, food, music, fashion, and comedy for five days of entertainment.
Melissa Brannan with the Prize Foundation says the event is “four festivals in one,” giving the community a chance to choose winners in several categories. The Film Prize will showcase 20 short films, with one filmmaker taking home $50,000 — and for the first time, audiences will have the opportunity to vote for a potential Oscar contender.
Music Prize will feature 11 independent bands, from regional acts to national performers, while Food Prize pairs local chefs with celebrity talent for unique culinary experiences. Comedy Prize will spotlight eight comedians competing for the top spot.
“It’s really a party with a purpose,” Brannan said. “This is a chance to shine a light on the incredible talent we have here in Shreveport, while also bringing in artists from around the country to be part of this creative community.”
