Oregon transportation bill vote gave way to ‘political courage’, analyst says

Editor’s note: After the taping of this segment, State Representative Cyrus Javadi (HD 32-Tillamook) announced he changed his party affiliation from Republican to Democrat in advance of the deadline for incumbent candidates running for reelection to file with the political party of their choice.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — As the Oregon legislature’s rocky special session is delayed yet again, the House has already passed the transportation bill that the Senate will consider on Sept. 17.

Political analyst Rick Metsger says that vote in the House was a courageous one for two representatives in this week’s Give Me A Minute.
