JACKSON COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Tyner man has been arrested and accused of issuing a false report, putting first responders in harm’s way to get to him when he allegedly claimed his family had been abducted and he had been stabbed.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) posted on Facebook

on Saturday, Sept. 6, that Elmer Douglas Sparks, 50, had allegedly told 911 dispatchers that he had been stabbed and his family had been abducted as a result of a home invasion.

Deputies and emergency personnel crews worked hard to get to Sparks as fast as they could in hazardous traffic conditions, responding to what they were told was a dire situation, only for him to be “extremely calm” when they arrived, law enforcement officials wrote.
