CARY, N.C. (WNCN) — Sophie Laurenceau-Breton, a senior at Cary High School, recently shared with CBS 17
that she achieved a perfect score on the ACT. This week, she learned that she earned a Super Score of 1600 on the SAT.

Sophie attributes her success to her disciplined study habits and effective time management. “I was shocked and excited. I am so thrilled, and it shows that hard work pays off,” she said.

According to the ACT, Sophie is now among the top quarter of one percent of students who take the ACT and achieve a top score. In 2024, only 3,041 out of 1.37 million students who took the ACT earned a perfect composite score of 36.

Many prestigious schools, including Harvard and Yale, are reaching out to her with letters encouraging her to attend their institutions.

However, she already has a few schools on her list. “I am considering Duke, Brown, and Yale. I toured those schools over the summer, and I love all three of their campuses. They are all beautiful, and the sense of community at each school seems inviting,” Sophie shared.
