WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A man wanted out of neighboring Prince George’s County and Alexandria was arrested in the District after carjacking someone, police detailed on Friday.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said just before 9:45 p.m. on Sept. 3, an off-duty officer saw a man carjack a moped driver in the 1000 block of Brentwood Road NE. The man fled on the person’s moped.

The off-duty officer shared information with MPD about where the suspect seemed to be headed. Responding officers found him in the 900 block of 17th Street NE, conducted a traffic stop and took him into custody.

Terel Rivers Antwoin, 34, was charged with unarmed carjacking, reckless driving and no permit.

MPD noted that Metro Transit Police also wanted him on outstanding warrants for lewd, indecent or obscene acts. He was additionally charged with two counts of fugitive from justice for separate active warrants out of Prince George’s County, Md., and Alexandria, Va.
