On June 26, 2023, Anthony J. Remedes, 41, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three consecutive 30-year sentences for a total of 90 years for possession of child pornography involving juveniles under 13 by Judge Donald Hathaway.
Remedes appealed what he claimed was an “excessive sentence” in Louisiana’s Second Circuit Court of Appeals, according to the Caddo District Attorney’s Office. On July 23, 2025, the Court of Appeal posted the decision, upholding Judge Hathaway’s sentencing.
Remedes was arrested on May 11, 2022, by the Louisiana State Police after the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office turned over findings of child sexual exploitation videos depicting children under 13 performing sexual acts with adults, and requested LSP’s involvement.
“Thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s office and the Louisiana State Police, this exploitation of innocent children in Caddo Parish was brought to light,” D.A. Stewart said. “We have fought for this predator to never see a day outside of prison, and my office will continue to fight whatever appeals he attempts to lessen his sentence.”
The appeal, alleging excessive sentence, was heard by Court of Appeal Judges Frances Pitman, Jimbo Stephens, and Jeff Thompson. Assistant District Attorneys Courtney Ray and Tommy Johnson represented the Caddo Parish DA’s office. The Louisiana Appellate Project represented him.
