Crash on I-85 south in Belmont causing serious back-ups: NCDOT
Around 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, the crash was reported near Exit 25 (Belmont Mt. Holly Road) on I-85 south. NCDOT says one lane is closed, which isn’t expected to reopen for a few hours.
Although only one lane is closed, NCDOT is showing the road is backed up for about four miles.
It’s unconfirmed if anyone was injured in the crash. Queen City News reached out to the NC State Highway Patrol to learn what led to the crash.
