Why Stamford HS is among 13 communities getting a boost from the Texas Rangers

STAMFORD, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Stamford Independent School District is one of 13 recipients of the 2025 Globe Life Baseball and Softball Grant Program, receiving funds to install a new scoreboard and support youth baseball and softball initiatives in the community.

The grants, totaling $100,000 this year, are awarded by the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and Globe Life to nonprofits across Texas and Oklahoma for projects such as field renovations, equipment purchases, uniforms, and other improvements.

Recipients will be honored at pre-game ceremonies at Globe Life Field before the Texas Rangers face the Houston Astros on September 6 at 6:15 p.m.

Now in its 14th year, the program aims to grow youth participation in baseball and softball by funding projects that enhance local sports programs.

“The Globe Life Baseball and Softball Grant Program is a key part of our mission to ensure that every child has the chance to experience the joy and community of sports,” said Karin Morris, senior vice president of community impact and executive director of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. “We are grateful to Globe Life for their partnership, which makes this possible.”

Since its launch in 2012, the program has contributed over $1.2 million to more than 150 organizations supporting communities in need.
