KLFY) — University of Louisiana quarterback Walker Howard is out for the season after sustaining an injury in the Cajuns’ first game against Rice.
Howard is expected to undergo surgery today for what is believed to be an oblique injury. The injury occurred during the game against the Owls. Howard attempted to continue playing but eventually had to leave the field.
Howard, a former STM Cougar, was in his first season with the Cajuns after transferring from LSU and then Ole Miss.
Cajuns head coach Michael Desormeaux announced that redshirt freshman quarterback Daniel Beale will start against McNeese State tomorrow.
The game against McNeese State is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium.
