TOPEKA (KSNT) – More Kansans are winning big prizes through the Powerball game as the jackpot prize nears a record high.

The Kansas Lottery reports that six $50,000 prizes have been sold through the Powerball game in Kansas so far this month. Three were won on Sept. 1 with another three winning tickets being purchased ahead of the Sept. 3 drawing,

totaling out to $300,000 in prizes. Each winning ticket for a $50,000 prize must match four white ball and the red Powerball.

The winning tickets were sold in different parts of the state, according to the Kansas Lottery. Three were sold in the northeast region, another in south-central Kansas, another in the southwest part of the state and one through the Kansas Lottery app.

    • Sept. 3: 3-16-29-61-69 and Powerball of 22.
    • Sept. 1: 8-23-25-40-53 and Powerball of 5.

Four of the $50,000 prizes have yet to be claimed as of Sept. 5, according to the Kansas Lottery. You can look up the full list of unclaimed lottery prizes in Kansas by clicking here.

Cory Thone with the Kansas Lottery told 27 News on Sept. 3 that excitement is building amongst Powerball players in the Sunflower State as the national jackpot continues to grow larger.

The current Powerball jackpot is set at $1.8 billion with a cash value of $826.4 million. The next drawing will be on Saturday, Sept. 6.
