Four male offenders broke the store’s exterior glass windows with an unknown object and made off with property, according to Chicago police.
The group then fled the scene in a Red Nissan SUV.
Six male offenders were subsequently taken into custody, and the stolen property was recovered.
No one was injured.
Chicago police officers have blocked off portions of the 700 block of N. Michigan Ave. as they investigate the theft incident at the Rolex store. WGN-TV cameras rolled as CPD officers canvassed the scene. Heavy damage to the business’s glass windows was visible.
Initial reports indicate multiple shots were fired, according to scanner radio. Police did not confirm those details.
Police activity observed by SkyCam9 in the area of 71st and Halsted captured what appeared to be the suspect vehicle, the Red Nissan SUV, shortly after the burglary incident.
Area Three Detectives are investigating.
