IBC: ASAP4EU To Showcase First Non-Linear Ad Implementation On FAST Channels

The European consortium ASAP4EU will unveil a demonstration of non-linear ads on FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) channels, leveraging the IAB SIMID standard, at IBC this year.

The live demo is the result of a joint collaboration between consortium members OKAST(specialist in FAST/OTT platforms) and Broadpeak (leader in streaming delivery and content monetization), together with Bitmovin, whose video player enables seamless playback and support for next-generation ad formats.

“Traditional linear ad breaks risk disrupting viewer engagement, with high drop-off rates at pre-rolls and mid-rolls,” said a company release. “Non-linear ads, by contrast, run alongside content — such as L-shaped banners, overlays, or Picture-in-Picture, preserving the viewing experience while unlocking new monetization opportunities.”

The demonstration will be experienced by visitors to the following stands: OKAST: 5.F34, Broadpeak: 1.F83, Bitmovin: 5.G58.
