Greg to serve as liturgist, preacher for St. Paul’s German-language worship service Sept. 30
Reverend Greg is deeply rooted in both his faith and German heritage. He has studied German language, literature and culture since high school, and as part of his German degree in college, he studied abroad at the Universität Heidelberg in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. His wife, Brigitta, and son, Friedrich, share his passion for both faith and the German language, and their family is joyfully expecting a new child in October.
This is not Reverend Greg’s first time in Cullman. He has previously served as liturgist and preacher for the St. Paul’s Gottesdienst, and the congregation is excited to welcome him again for this unique and meaningful worship experience.
The Gottesdienst will be conducted entirely in German, as the founders of St. Paul’s worshiped in 1885. English translations will be provided so that all attendees can follow along. Following the service, the public is invited to a time of fellowship in the school gym, featuring German pastries and coffee, and the opportunity to meet Reverend Greg in person.
St. Paul’s welcomes everyone — whether a Cullman local, a visitor or someone simply interested in German tradition and liturgy — to take part in this special service that celebrates both faith and heritage.
