A man already serving a prison sentence for sexually assaulting children has pleaded guilty to 12 additional counts of criminal sexual conduct.
Aaron Hjermstad, 51, used to coach and teach at two Minneapolis charter schools: The Mastery School and Harvest Best Academy.
He was convicted of sexually assaulting four boys he previously coached and sentenced in 2022 to 12 years in prison. Before the sentencing on those cases, Hjermstad was pulled over and apprehended in Idaho, during which time officials found thousands of videos of Hjermstad assaulting children.

Last year, he was indicted on 12 new counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly assaulting 12 kids under the age of 13 between 2013 and 2021. Authorities say he coached many of the victims or one of their relatives.
On Thursday, Hjermstad pleaded guilty to all 12 counts.
As per his plea agreement, he’s expected to be sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 30 years. His sentencing is set for Nov. 25.
