ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. (KLFY)-A Carencro man, 36-year-old Robert Lee Wiltz, has been arrested for
second-degree murder following the death of 40-year-old Amy Louviere from Breaux Bridge.
Detectives from the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office were alerted by a local hospital on Wednesday around 2:05 pm when Louviere was unresponsive and was dropped off to the emergency room with severe injuries due to blunt force trauma.
Following the initial investigation, Wiltz was identified as the suspect and was located and detained at a residence in the 2600 block of Main Highway in Breaux Bridge. Wiltz was originally charged with attempted second-degree murder and obstruction of justice, but after Louviere died from her injuries, Wiltz’s charges were upgraded to second-degree murder.
Louviere’s brother, Julio Domingue, said the family is at a loss for words following this tragedy
“It’s hard, I can go on and on but man it is hard, and I’m speechless, I’m still in shock,” said Domingue.
Julio Domingue described his sister as someone who brought light to everyone she met.
“She influenced so many different people, she gave hope and light and encouragement to so much people, she saved people’s lives and this shouldn’t have happened at all,” said Domingue.
Now those moments are memories, and the family is left trying to make sense of this tragedy.
“She would actually bring family members and people together, and we would just have a good time, sharing, reminiscing, talking about the good days and how things were and how things used to be,” said Domingue.
Wiltz is currently held in the St. Martin Parish Jail with no bond set, as the family struggles to come to terms with the tragedy.
The arrest of Robert Lee Wiltz has left the family of Amy Louviere heartbroken as they remember her as a beacon of hope and light to those around her.
