Visalia man arrested after advertising illegal gun for sale, police say
Police say 24-year-old Martin Escobar had allegedly advertised a short-barreled rifle for sale. The move spurred them to execute a search warrant at his home in the 1800 block of South Cindy Court in Visalia on Thursday.
There, officers say they seized a privately manufactured, fully automatic AR-15 style short-barreled rifle, a large-capacity magazine, 281 rounds of live .223 caliber ammunition, and roughly 4.2 grams of a white powdery substance resembling cocaine.
Escobar was arrested and booked on multiple charges, including possession of a short-barreled rifle, possession of a machine gun, possession of a ghost gun, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and possession of a controlled substance.
