That wish was to take a lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

According to a press release from Morning Light, on Wednesday Smith’s wish was granted after IMS President Doug Boles heard about it on social media.

The dream became reality when Boles gave Smith a ride around IMS, taking 115 mph laps in the Corvette Supercar. Smith honored his love of racing and his late wife by carrying a sign reading “Live life as if it’s your last lap!”

After the ride, Smith knelt to the ground to kiss the famed “yard of bricks.”
