According to the post, the mountain lion was captured on Yosemite National Park wildlife cameras raising and caring for the cub.
The post goes on to say, “Rangers first noticed the pair traveling together at night, the cub trotting at the lion’s side as if it had always belonged there. Over the weeks, the cameras showed more: the lion pausing to let the cub rest, sharing kills, and even circling protectively when other predators approached.”
YourCentralValley.com reached out to the park for comment, Public Affairs Officer
Scott Gediman said he’d look into it.
After a thorough search, he emailed us back.
“I knew it was fake but wanted to double-check,” he said. “A mountain lion would not do that. They are solitary animals, and that is implausible.”
