Crews searching for missing swimmer in Cape May, N.J.

CAPE MAY, N.J. (WPHL) — Beach patrol and emergency crews are searching for a missing swimmer in Cape May, the city announced.

According to officials, the missing swimmer went into the water around 7:15 a.m. Thursday.

Police, fire, and beach patrol are searching near Madison Avenue and Beach Avenue.

“Anyone with information on someone that took a swim at that time, or if you were swimming or know of anyone that went swimming solo this morning, please contact 609-884-9500,” the city said in a Facebook post.

New Jersey State Police and the United States Coast Guard are assisting in the search.
