LAFAYETTE, La (
KLFY) — This Saturday, take a walk through Zoosiana with the
Autism Society of Acadiana.
Walk on the Wild Side is a fundraiser to help the nonprofit keep providing events and programs for those with autism in our community. Your $25 ticket lets you take part in the walk, t-shirt design contest, arts and crafts and more.
Those who sign up as part of a team are encouraged to pick a zoo animal as their team mascot. You can even dress up in your best wild attire.
There will be prizes for the highest fundraisers and the t-shirt design contest winner. After awards, feel free to explore the zoo.
The Autism Society of Acadiana knows that autism looks different for each person with a diagnosis. With that in mind, Zoosiana will not be open to the public during Walk on the Wild Side, and the event will be sensory-friendly for guests.
Get your tickets beforehand at AcadianaAutism.org, or at the gate. Walk on the Wild Side starts at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 6.
