In a statement, Franciscan Health indicated that the issues forced it to reschedule some Indianapolis patients’ planned elective procedures. The healthcare company did not specify exactly what issues are causing the disruption in a statement provided to FOX59/CBS4.
“Out of an abundance of caution, Franciscan Health Indianapolis has rescheduled a portion of the elective surgical procedures at its main hospital campus in Indianapolis,” Franciscan Health officials wrote in a prepared statement. “The rescheduling became necessary due to temporary, technological issues that partially interrupted our full and timely supply of surgical equipment.”
In its statement, Franciscan Health did not indicate how long it expects the disruption to the surgery schedule at its Indianapolis hospital to last. The company did, however, report that it is working to remedy the issues it faces.
“A multi-disciplinary team from Franciscan Health, our equipment vendor, and others are working diligently to resolve this issue so that we can return to our normal surgical schedule,” Franciscan Health officials wrote in a statement. “We deeply regret the resultant inconvenience to patients and their families.”
