Showers and storms to hit Charlotte area as cold front approaches
(PINPOINT WEATHER) — After some rain in the mountains and foothills Wednesday, Thursday will bring a better chance of showers to the Charlotte area and rest of the Piedmont, too! It’s been such a dry stretch for many, and a little relief may
be coming.

This is ahead of a weak cold front as it approaches from the northwest. Some AM rain is possible in the mountains, but best chance comes in the typical afternoon and evening. Some storms could turn severe, especially in the mountains and foothills. Damaging wind gusts is the main threat. Stay weather aware if you’ll be out and about!

Friday is a little drier again… but hotter! A push of warmer air moves in for Friday and Saturday, boosting highs in the low 90s. This is ahead of yet another cold front set to move in early next week, bringing more possible showers and storms for Sunday. Behind that one, unseasonably cool highs in the 70s are back for Monday and Tuesday.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low 62.

Thursday: Sun & clouds, with scattered showers and storms developing. High 86.
