CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Publix Super Markets is expanding its presence in the Charlotte area with a new location set to open later this month.

The grocery chain has announced the grand opening of its newest store at the Market at Arboretum shopping center, located at 7933 Providence Road, for 7 a.m. on Sept. 20.

The new store will span 50,021 square feet and is expected to employ roughly 140 associates, providing a boost to the local job market.

This opening marks another step in Publix’s growth across North Carolina. The Florida-based grocer has been expanding its footprint in the state over the past several years. Publix is consistently ranked among the top supermarket chains in the Southeast.
