Multiple wildfires spur evacuation orders for Mariposa, Madera counties

MARIPOSA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Evacuation orders are in place for Madera and Mariposa counties after a series of wildfires ignited Tuesday afternoon.

The 1-2 Fire was the first to ignite; it burned 390 acres near Hornitos in Mariposa County before being contained.

Hours later, the 1-3, 1-4, and 1-5 fires ignited in the southern portion of Mariposa County. As of 10:50 p.m., the 1-3 Fire

was 151 acres large, the 1-4 Fire was 3,802 acres large, and the 1-5 Fire was 3 acres large. None of the fires reported any containment.

Evacuation orders are in place for Preston Road and West Westfall Road to the Ben Hur intersection in Mariposa County due to the 1-3 Fire. Evacuation orders are also in place for the following zones in Madera County:

• MAD-E0647 (Raynor Creek)
• MAD-E0533 (Eastman Lake)
• MAD-E0651 (Eastman East)
• MAD-E0783 (Road 29 and Road 603)

Evacuation warnings are also in place for:

• MAD-E0435 (Raymond Bridge)
• MAD-E0535 (Bonanza Creek)
• MAD-E0461 (Road 613)

Road closures are also in effect for Road 29 at Avenue 26 in Madera County.
