Make It Make Sense: When ALICE is more than a name

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – ALICE can be used as more than a person’s name.

Make It Make Sense guests Mollie Palmer, vice president of communication and engagement for Heart of Arkansas United Way, and Shantell Hinton-Hill, senior equity officer for the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation, were in the studio to explain the Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed individuals moniker, ALICE, and what it implies.

The discussion delved into the economic vulnerability of those who are employed, often holding more than one job, and struggling to make ends meet.

Also included was a discussion of the ALICE@Work initiative, which aims to collaborate with employers and raise awareness of the potential for ALICE employees.
