CC Young announces winners of annual Spirit is Ageless Art & Writing Contest

DALLAS (KDAF) — For the 25th year, CC Young has announced the winners of its annual Spirit is Ageless Art & Writing Contest. The 47 winners will be recognized at an awards celebration on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025 at 2 p.m. in The Point Auditorium on the CC Young campus. Awards will be given to the top three winners in 14 categories as well as four “Best in Show” awards, and the “Celebrating Ageless Creativity” award for the most senior participant in the show. All participants are aged 55+, with this year’s most senior participant at 100-years-old.

The Spirit is Ageless Art & Writing Contest, celebrating its 25th year, continues to be one of CC Young’s most popular cultural events among residents and the general public. This year the contest had 165 submissions in 14 categories. All entries are on display in CC Young’s gallery in The Point through Friday, Oct. 25, 2024. The exhibit truly exemplifies the words, “The Spirit is Ageless,” by illustrating diverse perspectives in all mediums. The art submitted carries a unique perspective and depth, reflecting a lifetime of experiences and wisdom. Thes artists and writers challenge stereotypes and demonstrate creativity knows no age boundaries.

Since 1999, the Spirit is Ageless Art & Writing Contest has been a unique popular cultural event for the Dallas-Fort Worth and CC Young communities. The annual contest, art gallery show, and public celebration of artists and writers has served to unite the North Texas area in highlighting original works of art in 14 categories, showcasing each participant’s ageless artistry, ability to grow and thrive, and willingness to share their creativity and talents with the public, regardless of one’s stature. All levels of talent are welcome to participate.

Winners will be recognized at a celebration held at The Point on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, from 2 – 4 p.m. The event will feature keynote speaker Dr. Alise Cortez, Chief Ignition Officer at Gusto, Now!, an organizational psychologist, logo therapist, and author of five books. Dr. Cortez also hosts the “Working on Purpose” podcast. She is dedicated to awakening people and organizations to their passion and purpose, inspiring them to make a contribution worthy of their one precious life.
