The district advises residents impacted by smoke to stay indoors to minimize exposure to particulate matter emissions.
The district encourages residents to utilize these health-protective actions:
Wildfire smoke contains particulate matter and ozone precursor emissions that can trigger asthma attacks, aggravate chronic bronchitis, and increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. Individuals with existing respiratory conditions are susceptible to health effects from fire-caused pollution, the district said.
Information about any wildfire affecting the Valley can be found at the District’s Wildfire Prevention & Response website.
