According to Lieutenant Cameron Roden with UHP, troopers attempted to stop a vehicle traveling north on I-15 near mile marker 112 in Beaver County. The vehicle fled leading troopers on a pursuit before exiting the highway at mile marker 120.
UDOT first reported the incident shortly before noon Tuesday.
The vehicle reentered the highway going the wrong way, traveling northbound in southbound lanes, until reaching I-70. UHP says troopers ended the pursuit when the vehicle entered on the wrong side of the highway.
Deputies with the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle north of Beaver, where the vehicle fled once again. The car crossed over into wrong-way traffic in the northbound lanes near milepost 105 of I-15. However, the vehicle was off the shoulder of the road, out of traffic, police say.
Lt. Roden says a UHP trooper traveling northbound, along with a deputy, were then able to stop the suspect vehicle by pinning it off the road.
Police say the vehicle is stolen out of California.
