According to the West Virginia Lottery, someone who bought a ticket in Hurricane six months ago has until Sept. 8 to claim their prize. Officials say that is the expiration date on that winning ticket.
On March 13, 2025, the West Virginia Lottery announced a winning ticket had been purchased at Par Mar #17 on Main Street in Hurricane.
Lottery officials said the winner matched all five numbers – 11, 13, 28, 51 and 58. The winning ticket, however, didn’t have the Powerball number, which was 1, and didn’t purchase the Power Play.
The person holding the lucky million-dollar ticket will need to sign the back of it and call the West Virginia Lottery at 304-558-0500 by Sept. 8 to learn how to claim their prize.
