ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An Abilene man has been sentenced to 75 years in prison for a deadly incident that happened in early 2023.
On January 2, 2023, police responded to a home on North Bowie Drive, where they found a man with severe blunt force trauma injuries. He was taken to the hospital but later died. A woman at the scene was also injured.
Investigators quickly identified Mario Valerio as a suspect, arresting him near the scene shortly after the attack.
In June 2025, a jury found Valerio guilty of murder. He has now been sentenced to 75 years in prison.
