Shreveport woman dead after vehicle crash in Bossier Parish

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — A woman has died following a multi-vehicle crash in Bossier Parish.

Mary Sparks, a 56-year-old woman from Shreveport, was killed in a crash on Louisiana Highway 3 near Aldren Bridge Loop on Sunday, August 31. The Louisiana State Police reported that officers responded to the incident at approximately 4:30 a.m.

Sparks was driving north on Louisiana Highway 3 while another driver was heading south on the same highway. Authorities are investigating the reason Sparks crossed the centerline and collided with the other vehicle. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police do not suspect that Sparks was impaired during the crash, but toxicology samples have been collected and submitted for analysis.
