Man in critical condition after shooting in Baton Rouge, officials say

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department responded to the scene of a shooting early Monday morning near the intersection of Government Street and South Foster Drive.

Officers responded around 3:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 1. BRPD said the shooting victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said the suspected shooter fled the scene. Police are searching for a motive and suspect in connection with this shooting.

Multiple BRPD units were observed at the scene along with police tape. One vehicle at the shooting scene appeared to have bullet holes in it.
