Dry and hot Labor Day, then changes arrive with increasing moisture and decreasing temperatures this week…

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Labor Day, Utah! We’re looking at plenty of sunshine and above average temperatures to kick off the week! High temperatures will climb into the lower 90s for the Wasatch Front and into the low 100s for SW Utah. Any rain will stay well away from the Beehive state which will allow for great conditions for any of your outdoor plans.

Tuesday will bring more sunshine across most of northern Utah, with a few extra clouds building across far SW Utah. While most of us will remain dry on our Tuesday, SW Utah will begin to see a few pop-up afternoon showers developing. These will be few and far between, but the chance will be there for the afternoon hours. High temperatures will remain above average with low 90s for the Wasatch Front. Highs will still be around 100 for SW Utah.

Moisture will begin to ramp up across southern Utah on Wednesday with isolated showers and storms developing during the afternoon hours. Northern Utah will likely remain dry through midweek with highs in the lower 90s. Highs for SW Utah will begin to dip back into the upper 90s for highs.

The chances of isolated storms will begin to increase a bit across northern Utah by late-week. Look for partly cloudy skies with isolated storms for the Wasatch Front. Partly to mostly cloudy skies will be common for southern Utah with increasing chances for scattered afternoon and evening showers and storms. High temperatures fall back into the upper 80s to near 90 for the Wasatch Front and only in the mid 90s for SW Utah.

The early weekend outlook is looking a bit unsettled across Utah. Moisture surging north around and area of high pressure will keep scattered showers and storms in the forecast. The chance for showers and storms may increase a bit through the weekend into early next week. Temperatures will respond to the extra clouds and rain chances with highs along the Wasatch Front only in the mid 80s for the weekend, and only in the lower 90s for SW Utah.
