The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said around 7 p.m., a two-vehicle crash involving a bicyclist killed a Cherokee man.
ALEA said Johnathan P. Mullins, 38, was killed when the electric bicycle he was using was hit by a 2018 Hyundai Sonata driven by a resident of Mississippi.
Mullins was thrown from the bicycle and pronounced deceased at the scene, authorities say.
The wreck occurred on U.S. 72 near the 4-mile marker, approximately seven miles west of Cherokee, in Colbert County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
