2 semi trucks crash in Visalia, man seriously injured

VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was hospitalized after two semi trucks collided in Visalia early Saturday morning, the Visalia Police Department announced.

Just after 1:45 a.m., officers responded to a reported semi truck collision on Riggin Avenue and Plaza Drive.

Investigators reported the driver of an Amazon semi truck was headed westbound on Riggin Avenue when he ran the red light and crashed into another semi truck headed northbound on Plaza Drive.

Police say as a result of the crash the driver of the Amazon semi was pinned in but eventually extricated by the fire department. He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Officers report the other driver was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
