The Super Derby has been a staple at Louisiana Downs since 1980, attracting top horses from across the country, including Kentucky Derby and Breeders Cup winners. Racing Roxy says the tradition is about more than the sport, it’s about pageantry, community, and celebration.

This year also features the fan-favorite hat contest, where attendees are encouraged to go big and bold with their race-day looks. KTAL’s Mata Drain will join as a celebrity judge for the contest, adding extra fun to the festivities.
