Shreveport police arrest suspect in Aug. 3 homicide

SHREVEPORT, LA. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Shreveport Police Department‘s (SPD) Violent Crimes unit has made an arrest in connection with an August 3 homicide.

SPD says they responded to reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of Dalzell Street and found a black female with multiple gunshot wounds inside a residence.

The Shreveport Fire Department pronounced the victim, SherPatrick Washington, dead on the scene.

After weeks of investigation, detectives believe they have identified the shooter and arrested Dion Randle, 53, for second-degree homicide.

SPD encourages anyone with additional information to contact the Violent Crimes Unit. The investigation is still ongoing.
