Pedestrian hit, killed by car in Bolivar County

BOLIVAR COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A pedestrian died after he was hit by a vehicle in Bolivar County, authorities said.

The crash occurred on U.S. 61 near Duncan around 5:00 a.m. on August 31, 2025.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a 2018 Dodge Charger was traveling north on the highway when it collided with Edward M. Triplett, 34, of Clarksdale.

Troopers said Triplett was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased at the scene. They said the driver of the Dodge Charger was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
