Man missing after sailboat crash in Lake Pontchartrain
ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A man is missing after a sailboat crash in Lake Pontchartrain on Sunday, Aug. 31.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, earlier in the morning, a sailboat struck the Causeway near mile marker 14.
A man went overboard. A woman was rescued from the vessel by the Coast Guard. The man remains missing.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is leading the investigation. STPSO officials said to expect to see a high police presence on Lake Pontchartrain as rescue and recovery efforts continue.
