According to an Ohio State Highway Patrol release, responders arrived at a single-vehicle crash on State Route 850 around 7:49 p.m.
The release said 35-year-old Jeremy Morehart of Bidwell was traveling southbound on the road when his vehicle veered off the right side, striking a sign and a ditch before overturning. Morehart was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, which struck another sign.
He was pronounced dead on the scene. State Route 850 was closed for two and a half hours for the initial investigation, but the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
Agencies on scene included the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Gallia County Sheriff’s Office, Gallia County EMS, Springfield Township Fire Department, Stapleton Towing, Gallia County Coroner and Willis Funeral Home.
