Investigators looking into fatal Gallia County crash

BIDWELL, Ohio (WOWK) — A man was pronounced dead on the scene of a crash in the Bidwell area Saturday evening.

According to an Ohio State Highway Patrol release, responders arrived at a single-vehicle crash on State Route 850 around 7:49 p.m.

The release said 35-year-old Jeremy Morehart of Bidwell was traveling southbound on the road when his vehicle veered off the right side, striking a sign and a ditch before overturning. Morehart was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, which struck another sign.

He was pronounced dead on the scene. State Route 850 was closed for two and a half hours for the initial investigation, but the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
