HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two weeks after his on-duty motorcycle accident, Hanford Police Officer Daniel Todd was wheeled out of the hospital to cheering and a round of applause.

“We’re super excited to see him. This is a surprise. He doesn’t know that we’re here,” his chief, Stephanie Huddleston, said before he made his way outside. “We just want to show him our support and that we’re going to continue to support him throughout his recovery. And we’re really grateful for the care that he received here.”

And so is he. While he still has a long recovery ahead of him, he said the care he received has shortened his path there.

“It’s hard for me to come up with words to talk about how amazing the staff here has been,” Todd said. “And I just wanted to thank them because I definitely believe that a personal relationship with your care provider will help you recover faster.”
