Georgia man dies in Ohio paraglider crash

WEST PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WOWK) — A man died from injuries sustained in a paraglider crash in West Portsmouth Sunday morning.

According to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 9:35 a.m. off US-52 near Earl Thomas Conley Park. Witnesses reportedly said the paraglider fell from the sky while flying over a field near the Ohio River.

Timothy A. Williams, 35, of Byron, Georgia, passed away after sustaining fatal injuries. The crash is still under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was on scene alongside Washington Township VFD, Portsmouth Ambulance and the Scioto County Sheriff’s Department.
