Wallace State’s McDonald, Sobol named ACCC Volleyball Players of the Week

Wallace State sophomore Abby McDonald and freshman Sofiia Sobol were named ACCC Volleyball Players of the Week following their performances last week in the Alabama/Mississippi Crossover event at Itawamba Community College.

McDonald, from Fairview HS, finished with an average of 4.64 digs and 1.07 assists per set in 14 sets played.

Sobol, from Gulf Shores HS, finished with an average of 4.07 kills and 2.71 digs per set in 14 sets played.

The Lions finished 4-0 at the Crossover and are now preparing for the Lion Invitational on Friday and Saturday. They will host the tournament at the Cullman Omniplex. They open at 2 p.m. with Lawson State on Friday, followed by a 6 p.m. match with Coastal Alabama – South. On Saturday, they will face Georgia Highlands at 11:00 a.m. and Cleveland at 1:00 p.m.
