Kentucky State Police (KSP) announced in a news release that around 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 29, troopers with Post 15 were dispatched to KY-379 in Russell County in response to a two-vehicle crash with injuries.
The initial investigation showed that William Miller, 55, was driving north on the state road on a 2004 Honda Shadow motorcycle. Authorities said his bike had allegedly been “stopped in the roadway for an unknown reason.”
Meanwhile, state police said a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 driven by Daniel Turner, 33, of Magnolia, was also heading north on KY-379.
Troopers said that because of the limited visibility of the motorcycle caused by vehicular and environmental conditions, Turner was unable to see Miller’s motorcycle and allegedly rear-ended it.
Miller was taken to the Russell County Hospital, where he died from his injuries. He was pronounced dead by the Russell County Coroner’s Office. Authorities said Turner wasn’t hurt.
The deadly motorcycle crash investigation remains ongoing.
