Man hit, killed by train in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a 36-year-old man was struck and killed by a train.

The incident occurred on Livingston Road and Ridgeway Road just before 7:30 a.m. on August 30, 2025.

Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), a man was discovered deceased between the railroad tracks. He said the Accident Investigation Unit, Canadian National Railroad (CN), Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) and the Hinds County Coroner’s Office were notified and responded to the scene.

The victim was identified Kendric Leroy Chaney. Brown said the preliminary investigation indicated that Chaney was struck by a train.
