LOGAN, Utah (ABC4) — “If you knew him, you already know that he was one of a kind,” Jesus Estrada, the brother of Tremonton Police Officer Eric Estrada recalled as he spoke at the funeral services held for the fallen officer today.

On Aug. 17, Officer

Eric Estrada and Sergeant Lee Sorensen were shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call in Tremonton. Today, Officer Estrada’s life is being remembered and honored. 

“He was a son, a brother, a husband, a father and a proud police officer. Eric loved serving the community. He took the responsibility seriously and he carried it with pride,” Jesus noted.

Jesus shared that he and Officer Estrada enjoyed watching movies together and playing soccer and baseball. “Out of all the roles he played in life, he was most proud of being a husband and a dad.”

Officer Estrada is survived by his wife Brittney, and their two children, Cienna and Luka.

“He showed me again and again what it means to love fiercely, live fully, and never do anything halfway,” shared Jesus.

Officer Estrada’s daughter speaks

“He was a dad that was up for almost anything,” said Cienna, Officer Estrada’s daughter.

“He knew how to make others laugh and smile. One time we were on our way to Walmart to pick-up groceries and I got in the front seat and then he got on the back seat and said, ‘There is actually a lot of room back here.’ and we all just started laughing,” Cienna recalled. “There are two people who have been really brave for me, my mom and my brother…..They (Eric and Brittany) loved each other more than you can imagine.”

She shared that her dad loved pickleball and CrossFit, always knew how to make others laugh and smile, and lived a great life.

“He always put others before himself and he was a great human being. He will always be remembered for what he did to our country,” Cienna concluded.

Funeral services for Sgt Lee Sorensen who died alongside Officer Estrada is scheduled to take place on Friday.
